TO THE MOON · Art film
To the Moon is an art film on the Taiwanese ink painter Liu Kuo-sung’s artistic and cognitive journey—from wartime displacement to an expansive vision of a spiritual homeland. Interweaving historical footage, archival traces, and experimental visual design, the film follows Liu’s evolving relationship to landscape, memory, and the transformative possibilities of ink. It considers artistic practice as both a record of twentieth-century movement across China and Taiwan and a sustained search for inner freedom. The film has been screened at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts and the National Gallery Singapore.
